2025 VCE Exam Timetable Released – Are You Ready?

The official 2025 VCE written exam timetable is out, and the countdown has officially begun. Whether you’re a Year 12 student preparing for your final exams, or a parent supporting your child’s academic journey, having a clear plan in place is essential to success.

To help you prepare, we’ve put together a summary of the key exam dates for Victoria’s most popular VCE subjects – and provided a month-by-month revision timeline to help you make the most of the time left.

📌 What’s Included in the Timetable?

This overview focuses on the most commonly taken VCE subjects, including:

  • English
  • Mathematics (Methods, Specialist)
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Psychology
  • Chinese (First and Second Language)

For full subjects’ timetable, please refer to VCAA official website.

🗓️ The written exam period runs from Tuesday, October 28 to Wednesday, November 19, 2025 — almost one full month of exams.

📝 Important Highlights

Here are a few things every student and parent should take note of:

✅ The first exam is English, taking place on Tuesday, October 28 (morning session).
👉 We recommend beginning targeted revision at least 8 weeks in advance.

✅ The last exams are scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, so be prepared for a long testing period — time and energy management will be key!

✅ Maths exams are tightly clustered:

  • Math Methods: Early November
  • Specialist Maths: Shortly after
👉 Don’t leave revision for these until the last minute.

✅ Afternoon exam start times vary:
Some exams begin at 2:00 PM, others at 3:00 PM — check the official schedule carefully to avoid confusion on the day.

✅ Many students will sit two exams in one day.
👉 Practice managing your stamina and focus under exam-day conditions — it matters!

📚 Suggested Revision Timeline

To reduce stress and boost your performance, we recommend the following monthly breakdown:

🔹 July – August

  • Finalise your notes and fill knowledge gaps
  • Begin targeted revision by topic
  • Start practising with short-answer and multiple-choice questions

🔸 September

  • Begin full-length past papers under exam conditions
  • Focus on timing and identifying weak points
  • Work on exam strategy, essay planning, and writing speed

🔺 October

  • Simulate real exam days (especially for double-exam days)
  • Final round of practice exams
  • Focus on accuracy, exam endurance, and calming your nerves

🎯 Final Thoughts

With just a few months to go, every week counts. The earlier you start preparing, the more confident and in control you’ll feel walking into that exam room.

VCE English Exam 2026: Final 3-Week Plan

The 2026 VCE English exam is on Tuesday 27 October at 9:00 am. In the three weeks left, spend week 1 finding and fixing your weakest section, week 2 drilling each section under time, and week 3 sitting one full 3-hour paper, then polishing instead of learning new content.

Term 4 starts on Monday 5 October, and English opens the written exam period. That leaves about three weeks to turn what you already know into marks. This guide from RL Education, a Melbourne-based VCE and IB tutoring centre with campuses in Box Hill and Melbourne CBD, shows what to do each week and what to practise for each of the three sections.
